Beds Glorious Beds!

We can shop for practically anything online these days. One of them is beds! From Leather Beds, wooden beds, children’s beds, french style beds to antique beds, you just name it.

I love the children’s beds in time4sleep. I could imagine me buying the beds when we have a bigger house! *grin* I especially love the fire-engine bed (I think Shania would love this!) and the blue jeep bed for Ted.

The french style beds are simply romantic! What about the wooden beds? They are spectacular and one can choose from an extensive range of oak, ash, pine and maple frames. The metal beds are the essence of cool and comfort. The designs may look simple but yet elegant. One can also choose a leather bed with the latest design.

Apart from beds, one can shop for bedroom furnitures, mattresses, pillows and other bedroom equipment online.

The website has an extensive selection of beds and other related stuff that I could spend hours doing my research on them. For the quality offered, the prices are pretty reasonable. Also, the products offered in the website has a 12-month warranty against defective design, workmanship or faulty materials.

So, for those who need a new bed, check out this website!

note: pictures were borrowed from time4sleep. (thanks!)

Map of Strange?

Oh yeah!

There are strange things in Google Maps! *grin* It’s really amazing and interesting! For instance, you can see Oprah’s head in a crop circle or an advertisement for a toilet machine!

If you haven’t visited the site, go ahead and be amazed!

Have fun!

Training Chats…

I’ve organised some trainings in my department ranging from writing skills, environmental management, environmental education to communication skills. We sometimes get internal trainers (myself, other officers or our bosses) or external ones to give lectures or facilitate the trainings.

On the other hand, I’ve also attended trainings such as Management Courses focusing on personnel management, time management and a few others. As a participant of the courses, there were times when the subjects were a wee bit dry so the attention span was quite short too (especially when the lectures were carried out in the afternoon, right after lunch!). *grin*

However, if the trainers have excellent communication skills (as well as a brilliant knowledge on the subject matter), even after-lunch-tiredness (or laziness? ha!) can go away in a jiffy!

Being Parents…

When I fetched Shania at her school a few days ago around noon during the 2nd recess (when she had that muscle pain), I had quite a shock to see parents feeding their children or checking their children’s books, time-table, etc frantically.

How on earth will children learn to be independent?

I asked Shania’s class teacher about it and she smiled (looking at my mixture of amazement and shock) and said it was quite a normal thing.

Terence and I take turns to send Shania to school early in the morning. My BIL will fetch her (together with my niece and nephews) after school. So far, it’s been a good arrangement. It never crossed our minds to go to school (every recess time) to check her books, or spoonfeed her.

I remembered Jewelle’s post on helicopter parenting. She’s right - who can say for sure what makes a great parent.

Terence and I want to do our best to bring up the kids to be independent and be responsible people. The best time to mould them is from a young age. Remember the Malay saying? Melentur buluh biarlah dari rebungnya.

Have You Visited One?

I’ve never been to a casino before. Some of you probably have gone to at least one in your lifetime, eh? It would be interesting to just have a peep, wouldn’t it? *grin* And perhaps, take a photograph of me standing there (Is this allowed?).

Oh well, may be I’ll just visit an online casino then (just curious, just curious).

An online casino I’ve checked out recently is the Rushmore Online Casino. It’s one of the famous ones - well, it received a 5-star rating - and it offers the slot, roulette, blackjack and video poker (wow, they have things like this now?). They even have a 24/7 phone support and customer care! They also claim to provide a stylish, fair and responsible entertainment environment. Other offers include online promotions such as $888 free welcome bonus, blackjack special bonus and so on.

Wokay. We learn new things everyday, huh? (Now I remember! When I was small, someone has given me a toy roulette! ha! I didn’t know then what it was all about. I thought it was like another snake-and-ladder game. *grin*)

To Refinance or Not…

Applying for financial assistance such as home loans, car loans, Car Refinance and other refinancing opportunities can be done online these days. It’s faster and time-effective.

Refinancing can be undertaken to lower interest rates, to extend repayment time, to pay off other debts and also to raise cash for other investments and consumption (such as to pay for that holiday you’ve been aiming for years!).

*wink*

A Better Day

I took another day’s leave today.

Shania feels better and Ted seems to be in his better mood. Both are still taking their medicines but I’m really relieved to see some signs of recovery. Thank God for that!

And now, I’m taking a break from doing my slides. *grin* So far so good lah.

Back to office tomorrow.

O well, a girl’s gotta earn her living too huh?

Have a lovely and blessed day, peeps!

Never So Far Away

Videoconferencing is becoming more popular in the private and government sectors in this age of technology.

A few years ago I was involved in a videoconferencing between a Sabah school and a Japanese school under the Bornean Biodiversity and Ecosystems Conservation Programme. It was really exciting for the students (and people like me too! *grin*) to be able to communicate in such a way. For me, videoconferencing is a wonderful alternative for people to communicate with each other apart from using the telephone!

During the session, the students asked each other about their environmental activities, cultures, and so on. One of the questions from the Japanese students (that I can never forget!) was ‘Do you really eat worms there?’ What they meant was the sago worm or butod (in Kadazandusun). So one of the local students answered ’Yes, some people do and it is one of the specialities of a local ethnic group here’.

I’m a Kadazan girl but I’ve never tried it (yet…somehow I’m not courageous enough!), but those who love it say that it is really yummy when fried or cooked in porridge!

Hmmm…
