The Rainforest Discovery Centre
Situated in Sepilok, Sandakan, the Rainforest Discovery Centre or in short, RDC, is an environmental education facility managed by the Forest Research Centre of the State Forestry Department. It is located at the edge of the Sepilok Arboretum and adjacent to it are a Visitor Centre Complex, Plant Discovery Garden, Rainforest Discovery Trail and the Canopy Walkway. These were designed to appeal to students, teachers and other visitors, either local or foreign.
My cousin Bernadette is running the centre together with her team (all lovely ladies, I might add). There’s where we had our recent Seminar on Environmental Education for Practitioners. If you get the chance to visit Sandakan, do visit RDC and look for Bernadette (ahem, please do let her know I recommended you to visit ok? (o; )
